tidal ladder: Minas Basin

Documentation of a performance during the White Rabbit Arts Festival in Economy NS, 2011.

A 32ft tidal ladder was set-up at the mid-tide point in the Minas Basin of the Bay of Fundy. As the tide rose, I climbed the ladder, until the water reached it’s peak, know as slack tide (the brief time between out and incoming tides, where the water isn’t flowing) – and I jumped in and swam to shore.
Below is some documentation of installing the ladder.
In loving memory of Tom Young.
